Comparatives & Superlatives Nedir?
Comparatives (karşılaştırma) iki şeyi karşılaştırmak için kullanılır; superlatives (üstünlük) ise bir grubun en üstününü belirtir. Türkçe'de "daha" ve "en" kelimeleriyle ifade edilir.
Comparatives: -er veya more
Kısa sıfatlar (1-2 hece) için -er, uzun sıfatlar (3+ hece) için more kullanılır. Karşılaştırılan ikinci öğeden önce than gelir.
Örnek: This book is cheaper than that one. — Bu kitap şundan daha ucuz.
Örnek: She is more beautiful than her sister. — Kız kardeşinden daha güzel.
Örnek: Today is colder than yesterday. — Bugün dünden daha soğuk.
-er Kuralları
- big → bigger, hot → hotter (tek sessiz + kısa sesli: son harf çiftlenir)
- nice → nicer, large → larger (sadece -r eklenir)
- heavy → heavier, happy → happier (y → i + er)
Superlatives: -est veya most
En üstün derece için kısa sıfatta -est, uzun sıfatta most kullanılır. Genellikle önünde the bulunur.
Örnek: This is the biggest city. — Bu en büyük şehir.
Örnek: She is the most intelligent student. — En zeki öğrenci.
Örnek: It was the best day of my life. — Hayatımın en iyi günüydü.
Düzensiz Sıfatlar
Bazı sıfatların karşılaştırma ve üstünlük halleri kurallara uymaz.
- good → better → best
- bad → worse → worst
- far → farther/further → farthest/furthest
- much/many → more → most
- little → less → least
Örnek: This is better than before. — Bu öncekinden daha iyi.
Örnek: That was the worst movie ever. — O şimdiye kadar gördüğüm en kötü filmdi.
⚠️ "Good" için "more good" veya "gooder" denmez; "better" kullanılır. "Bad" için "worse" kullanılır.
Than Kullanımı
Comparatives'ta karşılaştırılan öğeden önce than kullanılır. Superlatives'ta genellikle "in" veya "of" ile grup belirtilir.
Örnek: He is taller than me. — Benden daha uzun.
Örnek: She is the tallest in the class. — Sınıfta en uzun.
Örnek: It's the most expensive of all. — Hepsinin en pahalısı.
💡 İki heceli sıfatlarda: "-y" ile bitenler -er alır (happy → happier); diğerleri more alır (modern → more modern).

Cevap: more expensive. 3+ heceli sıfatlar "more" alır: This car is more expensive than that one.
2. He is the _____ (good) player in the team. Üstünlük formunu yazın.
Cevap: best. "Good" düzensizdir: good → better → best. He is the best player in the team.
3. Today is _____ (hot) than yesterday. "hot" için karşılaştırma?
Cevap: hotter. Tek sessiz + kısa sesli kuralı: hot → hotter. Today is hotter than yesterday.
4. This is _____ (bad) film I've ever seen. Üstünlük formu?
Cevap: the worst. "Bad" düzensizdir: bad → worse → worst. This is the worst film I've ever seen.
5. She is _____ (intelligent) than her brother. Doğru formu yazın.
Cevap: more intelligent. "Intelligent" 4 heceli olduğu için "more" kullanılır: She is more intelligent than her brother.
